Winter + Spring Trip Applications Due Friday, November 4!

Do you want to have an adventure on your winter or spring break?

Joining Alternative Breaks is a great way learn from new communities, make new friends, and travel to new places, all while having service learning and volunteering experiences!

To sign up for an incredible alternative break experience, you need to act now:

Winter and spring break service trip applications are due on Friday, November 4!

It’s easy to apply. All you need to do is:

  1. Visit the Alternative Breaks OrgSync page and become a member.
  2. Click the ‘Forms’ tab and find the application you want– winter, spring, or summer.
  3. Complete the application.
  4. Pay the $5 application fee

The $5 application fee online payment form will be emailed to you once you complete the application. Otherwise, click the following links to access each season’s payment forms: winter, spring, summer.

Scholarship and fundraising opportunities are available to help you cover trip costs! Please contact for more information.

Info Night: Learn About Our 23 Service Trips!

Info Nights are opportunities for students to learn more about how they can get involved with Alternative Breaks! There will be information on each of our 23 different winter, spring, and summer break trips, so you can discover which topics you’re most interested in and ask any questions you have.

Feel free to drop by at any time and stay as long as you would like!

There will also be candy (this event is Halloween-themed), Alternative Breaks swag sales, and info on fundraising and scholarship opportunities!

October Transformation Tuesday: Bees!


This month we will be joined by the GVSU Beekeepers to discuss the importance of bees!

Transformation Tuesdays are GVSU Alternative Breaks‘ monthly educational event series! They may involve watching a documentary, listening to guest speakers, or engaging in activities in hopes of fostering a constructive space for meaningful and reflective dialogue.

These events are open to all GVSU students, regardless of past Alternative Breaks involvement.
