Grand Valley Alternative Breaks has two fantastic events planned for the month of March!
Service Saturday with Family Promise
Service Saturday is back, and just in time for GVSU’s Community Outreach Week!
For the month of March, we will be working with Family Promise of Grand Rapids. Family Promise is an organization that strives to help prevent homelessness by giving the encouragement that families need to give them motivation to grow. Plans for the day include deep cleaning the day center and receiving an educational tour about the organization and the opportunity to talk about what goes on during a normal day at Family Promise.
The following are the details for the event occurring on March 19th, 2016:
We will be meeting at 8:45 AM across from Lobby Shop in Kirkhof Center and will be carpooling to Family Promise. We will be volunteering from 10-2 PM then we will return to campus following our service. Please be sure to bring your own water bottle for the day as well as to pack your own lunch.
